What is a somatic death ritual?

It’s a relaxing and meditative experience that is guided through a series of activities to help release unprocessed energy in the body, subconscious and conscious mind. To alchemize grief, sorrow, emotions, etc. so that we can move forwards in life with clarity, closure, sovereignty, and understanding. It’s the journey back to our most authentic selves, with divine love and compassion!

What to expect?

Focusing on body fluid movement (dance), mediation/mindfulness, art therapy manifestation (tarot and oracle pulls-to take home), and grounding back into the body with nourishment (refreshments will be provided at the end of the ritual-not mandatory). 

What to bring?

Bring a yoga mat/blanket, cup/mug (for tea), headphones/ear buds (playlist of music that matches what you wish to release or manifest), pictures or talismans of energy connected to what you’d like to connect with and/or release. As well as what you’d like to integrate/embody into your life (picture, artwork, poem, etc.) Dress in clothes that you feel most comfortable and/or confident in! 

About Our Presenter

Salem Smith (he/they) is a queer and trans end-of-life doula, soul transition facilitator, and intuitive speaker! Specializing in guiding souls through releasing unprocessed grief, or lingering energies-within the mind, body, and soul. He has been reading tarot for 10+ years, and psychic medium (channeling and communicating with spirit) since early childhood.
